Cynthia Smith lives in Dexter, GA. She is married to Chris. They have a son named Daniel, a three year old grandson and a two year old granddaughter. Cynthia and her family worship at First Baptist Church Eastman.
Cynthia first learned about human trafficking on a mission trip to Moldova in 2008. She later learned that human trafficking not only takes place in third world countries but in our own backyard.
After her mission trip to Moldova, she began raising awareness and funds to help fight human trafficking. She went on to become the Co-Founder & Director of the Out of Darkness Middle GA Chapter in 2014. The mission of Out of Darkness is to Reach, Rescue, and Restore all victims of the commercial sex industry so that the Glory of God may be known. Out of Darkness is the anti-trafficking ministry of the Atlanta Dream Center. Since launching in 2011, it has celebrated 1200 plus rescues. There have been 115 rescues in Middle Georgia since May 2014.
