Demetria Thomas is originally from Unadilla, Ga. She is married to Edward Thomas. They are the proud parents of 4 children; Vossi (25), Draik (21), Jaeden (19) and Faith (12).
Demetria earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Valdosta State University, her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashford University, and her educational leadership degree from Albany State University. She began her professional teaching career in 2006 as a special educator at Feagin Mill Middle School in Warner Robins, Ga. Soon after, she served as the Special Ed Department’s chairperson. She now serves as Feagin Mill’s Assistant Principal of Discipline. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
God filled Demetria with a love for teaching and a passion for inspiring others at a very young age. Since the age of 15, she has taught vacation bible school and Sunday school. Demetria is a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Macon where she sings in the choir and teaches bible school. She has also served as a teacher in the children’s ministry. Demetria enjoys singing, watching action movies taking vacations, and spending as much time as she can with her family, which includes her 26 siblings. I Corinthians 16:14 states, “Do everything in love”. Demetria’s daily mission in life is to touch as many lives as she can through her life of gratitude, humility, and love.
